Rover Comics. 

The Rover was the second of the "Big Five" comics of D.C. Thomson, it started life on March 4th 1922 and ran to 1855 issues, the last being January 14th 1961 issue 1855. The Rover then merged with another D.C. thomson paper The Adventure, the first The Rover and Adventure was born, these seem to be much sought after by collectors due  their rarity, there were only 142 issues of this paper before the name of The Rover returned to the front on 12th October 1963. Another change then came as The Rover merged with The long established Wizard. The Wizard and The Rover joined on 16th November 1963.

Rover and Wizard were published the following week November 23rd 1963 but again reverted back to The Rover with issue 448 in August 16th 1969, after nearly 51 years on January 13th 1973 th last issue (626) of The Rover was published.
