Magic Comics.

In July 1939, D.C. Thomson published a new comic, The Magic.

The Magic was very similar to The Dandy and The Beano, but with less pages, more colour and a slightly simpler look, thus appealing to a younger reader.

 With the arrival of WWII, there was a drastic shortage of newsprint, this was called the "paper shortage"; The Magic had to close and The Dandy and The Beano had to appear on fortnightly instead of weekly.

The Magic lasted 80 issues, 22nd July 1939, last produced 25th January 1941.

Only two Magic annuals were ever published, issues 1941 and 1942.

 

The comics below are from a revival in the Magic during the late 1970s.
