DC Thomson related items. The front cover on the Ajax and Okay Adventure Annuals above were drawn and painted by D.C. Thomson's late and great Denis McLoughlin. his name is clearly seen on the front cover. It is said that Denis became dispondant that he was spending all his artistic life drawing and painting war pictures for the Victor among others and really enjoyed the cowboy scenes that others were drawing. Denis was found dead after supposedly using a fake gun that he used as a prop to shot himself. The gun turning out to be a genuine artical. Denis was one of this countries greatest artistes ever!

It is thought they might have been an item that was given to Newsagents who sold the Topical Times. The case is leather, stitched around the edge, and has a cartoon of a "Dog" on the front with the words. "Topical Times" Keeps up with the news.
